CAP-AFIADL

Civil Air Patrol Use of AFIADL

In order for Civil Air Patrol to continue to enjoy it's privilege of using AFIADL courses, when members apply for the United States Air Force Institute for Advanced Distributed Learning (Formerly known as Extension Course Institute) courses unit Professional Development officers must carefully screen all AFIADL Form 23’s prior to them forwarding the form to AFIADL.

PLEASE REVIEW THE MEMO DATED MARCH 30, 2006 REGARDING AFIADL ENROLLMENT HERE.

Click the button at the bottom of the form labeled “Email Form To: STUDENT.SERVICES@MAXWELL.AF.MIL” and follow the directions.

DO NOT EMAIL THE FORM ITSELF!!!

When sending the email, cc both the Wing PDO (etp@iawg.cap.gov) and the Wing TCO (aelliot@iawg.cap.gov).

Once the request is emailed in, the member will receive notification indicating that the course materials are on the way.  Then about a week later the course materials should arrive.  It is highly recommended that all CAP members take course 00013, the CAP Senior Officer Course, first.  This course is required for promotion to Captain and for cadets to receive the Eaker Award.  Cadets who have earned the Mitchell Award are encouraged to enroll in course 00013 and other courses that are related to their squadron duties.

Once the student is ready, the squadron test control officer may request the course examination using the online AFIADL Form 17.  This form has several purposes, but in this case fill out the information on the student and click on "Send Course Exam."  Then submit the form, and print off the receipt.

In about a week, another white 3" x 5" card indicating that the course exam is on the way will arrive at the student's address.  Then, within a month, the test will be mailed to the unit test control officer from the wing test control officer.  When the student is ready, the course exam can be administered by the unit test control officer.  Once the student is done the test control officer should mail the answer sheet in the envelope provided and seal and retain the test until the results come back.  The results will be another 3" x 5" white card that has the end of course results (pass or fail, number right, areas of study, etc).  If the student passed they should make a copy of the card to be added to their personnel file and annotated on their CAPF 45b.  They should also inform the test control officer that they passed.  If they failed AFIADL should automatically mail the test control officer a different version for the student to retake the test.

This service is provided to us for FREE by the Air Force, so please do not abuse it.
