Missing Person Search

At about 1500 local time on Tuesday, August 28, I receied a call from Col Ralph Tomlinson, Iowa Wing Commander, requesting that I transport Lt Chuck Brudtkuhl to the Washington airport so he could provide equipment and comm services during a missing person search in the area.  When we landed at AWG, Lt Brudtkuhl was driven by a state patrol office to a command post that had been set up in the community of Riverside.  CPF1377 from CID, crewed by Capt Terry Kruse and Capt Michael Oerregarrd, arrived to conduct an aerial search.  They could not immediately begin the search, as a state patrol plane was already in the search area.  They were released to begin the search at approximately 1900.  Shortly thereafter a horse-mounted volunteer discovered the body of the missing person in a soybean field.  CPF1316 and CPF1377 returned unevently to their respective home bases.
