1. Iowa Wing Cadet Programs will be hosting a Cadet Leadership School from 16 – 18 February 2001 at Camp Dodge, Johnston, Iowa. The Cadet Leadership School will consist of two courses: Cadet NCO School and Cadet Officers Basic Course. The Cadet Leadership School will be held in conjunction with the Squadron Leadership School and Corporate Learning Course. Cost for both courses is $50.00, which includes materials, meals, and billeting.
2. The Cadet NCO School is for C/SrA through C/CMSgt. The curriculum includes: a. Instructional Methods “Learn to Teach” b. Interaction – New Faces & New Experiences c. Drill and Ceremonies “You’re in Charge” d. Instruction on Color Guard and Guidon e. Evaluation: Find Something Right f. NCO Responsibilities
3. The Cadet Officers Basic Course is for all Cadet Officers. The curriculum includes: a. Leadership Skills b. Communication c. Management Skills d. Officership
4. To apply, complete and mail a CAP Form 31 (picture not required) with ALL required signatures. Identify the course for which you are applying. Include a check or money order made payable to Iowa Wing, Civil Air Patrol. Illegible applications will not be accepted (pay attention to detail). Applicants without required grade must include a letter requesting a waiver. Applications must be postmarked NLT 4 February 2001 and mailed to IAWG/CP, 123 Sheldon Ave. Apt. 28, Ames, IA 50014-4076.
5. If you wish to apply for a staff position, email cp@iawg.cap.gov. Include a typed letter of application (stating what staff position you are applying for and why you should be chosen) and CAP resume (detailing what activities, positions, awards, etc. you have earned and accomplished) along with your applications. Follow the same guidelines as paragraph 4.
6. Students should report NLT 2100 Friday 16 February 2001 to Building W-35. Students will be billeted in Camp Dodge’s BOQ/BEQ type facilities (not barracks). Required equipment: Service Dress Uniform, Battle Dress Uniform, under garments, socks, bath towel, toiletries, pen, pencil, paper, and CAP Manuals. Students will be dismissed by 1600 Sunday 18 February 2001.
