Remember, drive drive drive. We have to have miles on our vehicles in order to be on the list for a new vehicle. This really helps with the paper work.

This & That
--Capt. Doug Jansen has a supply of Canteen Cups, Canteen Covers, Mess Kits, Sleeping Bags, Back Packs, and Pistol Belts for those who need them.
--The Osceola SAR/EX went well. The video imaging was up and running and two area fire departments and the local Sheriff's department were very impressed.
--Your ONLine News reporters received a report that Iowa Civil Air Patrol was in action on two different occasions. The first was returning from the Osceola SAR/EX. We understand COL Rex Glasgow with four East Iowa Cadets and Capt Eric Schneider, Capt Ron Scheitzach, 1LT Becki LeClere with Cadets from Dubuque Composite Squadron came upon an accident on I-80. They immediately went into action. COL Glasgow and Capt Schneider, our highly trained emergency personnel, attended to the injured lady and only when relieved by local fire/EMS did they leave her side. The rest of the crew garbed their gear and directed traffic until two members of the Iowa State Patrol arrived on the scene. As the group drove away, a number of bystanders were heard to say, "What's Civil Air Patrol?"
--Captains Halbrook and Jansen, FO Ruffin, and SM Krentz of the Central Iowa Composite Squadron, Ames, participated in a mission while at the Airshow in the Quad Cities. They also responded to an actual car -- motorcycle accident in Clinton while on the search.
Congratulations to all the members who took part in these events. This is a very positive way to present our organization to the public.
--Our Iowa Wing Vice Commander, Capt Eric Schneider under went orthroscopic surgery on Monday 11 June. He is now under going the physical therapy part of the healing process which will take a few months more than what they thought in the beginning. We all wish him well.
Remember PLEASE send items in for the newsletter. We have not heard from
some of the squadrons. Hope next month we have a report from everyone.
