Remember SAFETY FIRST. Also remember your 101 cards for the missions and training. No card No Mission or No training. Also bring your 101T to the Washington SAR. This will be a good time to have lots of blocks filled in but there are many prerequisites that need to be signed before starting training. This is hot weather. Drink plenty of water. Fly safe, Fly often and have fun.
FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GLIDER OPERATIONS, LT COL STEVE LEWIS
The glider is flying high. It was taken to the Minnesota Flight Encampment along with N99750 which is now equipped as a tow plane. This weekend is the first training and it will be going to the Wing Ding in Boone, IA August 16 - 18. Be sure to contact me for your squadrons flight. gliders@iawg.cap.gov.
CADETS
C/Capt Daniels and C/Capt Schroeder are out of the country on the International Air Cadet Exchange. We look forward to hearing about their adventures next month.
MISSIONS
Last month our air and ground crews did an outstanding job. Sometimes it takes some time for everything to fall into place but our crews showed how well trained they are. Finding aircraft with their ELT going off, and then re-going off, to finding a missing person. Sometimes we are sent to find an ELT and then there is no signal. Our crews all deserve a big PAT ON THE BACK even though this is what we are trained to do. Just doing our job - - VERY WELL!
