Shooting
for Success!
|

This year's wing conference will be held at the
beautiful Iowa State Memorial
Union in Ames, Iowa. Friday evening there will be cadet
and senior member hospitality rooms from 6 to 10 pm in the hotel
portion of the Union. Members can take advantage of the recreation
center with its bowling alley, pool tables, and video games.
Saturday will begin with the General Session at 9
am in the Sun Room on the first floor of the Union. After
the General Session a variety of breakout sessions will be offered
throughout the morning and afternoon.
The Awards Banquet will be held in the Sun Room
Saturday evening. A delicious buffet dinner will be served
and then our guest speaker will address the wing. Following
his address the annual awards for Cadet of the Year, Cadet NCO of
the Year, Senior Member of the Year, Wing Staff Member of the
Year, Flying and Non-Flying Squadrons of the Year will be
presented.
Sunday morning there will be a Commander's Call
and breakfast in the Gold Room at 7 am. The Cadet Advisory
Council will meet during the breakout sessions on Saturday.

Professional development
takes center stage for Iowa senior members.
September 14-15, 20 members of Iowa Wing Civil
Air Patrol attended SLS and CLC. 1Lt. Brandon L. Hanson directed
Squadron Leadership School and Capt. Suzanne Tomlinson directed the
Corporate Learning Course. Both directors had the opportunity to
work with many experts in their field from a pool of IAWG
instructors. The students learnt about uniform wear, CAP-USAF
relationship, how wing and squadron finance work, and many other
things on how CAP functions. Also many on September 14th
learned of the defeat of the Iowa Hawkeyes by Iowa State.
